This is a story about Mira…A mother of three children…For the last 10 years she had her sons go to the neighbourhood kindergarten. One day after delivering her youngest one to the kindergarten…on her way out the gate she suddenly stopped…she stared at a beautiful newly sprung tree standing there 4 meters from the gate.…A light breeze causing the leaves to sound its own tune. The sunbeams finding its way through it…
Mira was completely mesmerised by the beauty and prowess of that tree, but most of all she was confused. Confused, because she had never noticed that tree before. «Have this tree always been here?», she thought to herself. Mira could not let this go, so she went back in to the kindergarten to ask one of the nannies. She was embarrassed to ask, but she couldn´t let it go. «I noticed the beautiful tree by the gate, how long has it been there?»
The nanny smiled, tilted her head and with a hint of concern in her eyes and replied «Mira, this is your tenth year here, and that tree has been here all those years…»
Mira went back to her car…got inside and started to cry…She thought to herself: If she hadn´t noticed the beauty right in front of her in the last ten years…how many other things in her life had she missed because of her mind always racing to the past or the future….How many precious moments had just passed by unnoticed over the years…This was her wakeup call!
And I don´t know if you wonder, but I do wonder…if this experience made Mira wake up? If she committed herself to not miss more precious moments in her life, but to be more aware and awake NOW? Or if she just continued just the same? One thing we know for sure: She has a choice…free will…to focus on what is really important in life, or to focus on the things that are not important…
Take care of yourself…YOU DESERVE abundance of freedom, love and joy.
