I am so happy and grateful…I am…
Everything that we say either to ourselves or others that follows the words “I am…” our brain interprets as truth that it reacts upon. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a part of our brain that makes words that gets repeated over time as part of our identity, positive or negative.
I am stupid
I am forgetful
I am unimportant
I am Peaceful
I am insignificant
I am lucky
I am joyful
I am grateful
I am so sick and tired of….
I am tired of being sick.
I am angry
I am bitter
I am satisfied
I am creative
I am loving and compassionate
“I am” is affecting in a deep way subconsciously. We don´t learn in school how powerful language is. We learn how to spell correctly and how to be grammatically correct, but we don´t learn how language mild our lives…your future. Human beings are thinking approximately 50000 thoughts per day. Still very few people are consciously aware of how words work and how significant they are.
What would happen in your life if you took this fact seriously? Only you know the answer to that…Yes in your heart you know…What would happen if we really took all aspects of our wellbeing seriously and used 15 minutes each day reading and researching what thoughts really affect us?
“I don´t have time” some would argue. This is a lie.
“Time is something we create to the things we want to prioritize.” – Kenneth Soares
We lie to ourselves so that we avoid making a choice. We lie to ourselves to avoid stepping out of the comfort zone.
“Excuses are lies disguised as truth”
Every clothing you own, every piece of music you have heard, jewellery, shoes, everything in your home, cars, books, computers, TV´s, smartphones…EVERYTHING first started with a thought.
I am…the words we put after will automatically become programmed in our subconscious mind. Every time we repeat “I am…..” its like training and building muscles. They become stronger. Our subconscious don´t care if it´s positive or negative, because it non judgmental, it don´t define positive or negative. It just listens. If you stand by a river one day when you are feeling really good, the river don´t care…It just runs like it always has. If you stand by a river one day when you are feeling really down and pessimistic, the river don´t care…It just runs like it always has.
If you´d go in to the river in a rowboat. Would you row with the river current or against it? Upstream or downstream? Why is it that so many row upstream when they can go downstream?
“I don´t know what´s downstream, because I´ve been going upstream all my life. I have to be in control, I don´t trust the process of life, so I live in an illusion of “trying” to control life.” Yes, the fear of the unknown causes people to row upstream, because it´s “safer”. At least they know what they have even if it´s not doing them any good. “I am stupid…I am incompetent…I am fat…I am frustrated…I am ugly…I am angry…I am lonely…”
Our brain will never make us lyers. It always wants us to be right. It will prove it. Our brain will therefore filter life experiences to fit our truth of “I am”.
We are what and who we say we are.
Would you like to train some crucial mental and emotional muscle groups so that it becomes more natural and “safe” to float downstream? I have some “I am” suggestions for you. The good thing is that they don´t need to be true for you now, however when you pick 2-3 of these and repeat them 5-10 minutes daily, then they will become true with time.

Most people won’t bother to do this self programming, because we are wired to believe that things are suppose to be a struggle. “It´s hard to change”. Yes if you say so, then it is so. Life is life, and how you program yourself will effect on every level how you handle life. You are free to choose. We are all free to choose our truths about ourselves.
I can warmly suggest this affirmation video as an affective self help tool on your journey in becoming more empowered in your everyday life.
